ein Schaum e Die Donnerode, a última
Ruiten (soprano), Tilman Lichdi
(tenor), Klaus Mertens (baixo) e Jasper Schweppe (baixo).
A voz

Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and Choir, Fundação Gulbenkian,
Março de 2013
A brief
note to mention another good concert at the Gulbenkian Foundation, earlier this
week. It was a rare occasion when the garden was visible, which gives another
dimension to the room. It transforms it into a
unique and perhaps the most beautiful concert room in Lisbon .
We heard the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and Choir, directed by Ton Koopman, interpreting works by Georg Philipp Telemann, Selig sind die Toten, Das Leben ist ein Rauch, ein Schaum and Die Donnerode, the last one written for a concert in memory of the victims of the 1755 earthquake in Lisbon.
The soloists, Dutch and German, were homogeneous and of remarkable quality, including Lenneke Ruiten (soprano), Tilman Lichdi (tenor), Klaus Mertens (bass) and Jasper Schweppe (bass).
Worthy of emphasis was young countertenor Maarten Engeltjes that offered us a top quality interpretation. His voice is of an unusual beauty and the singer projected it with great effectiveness. It was, for me, the best of the night, and a revelation.

Dear Fanatico_um,
ResponderEliminarThe super countertenor Franco Fagioli is giving a concert on 24. March in Porto. With his Role as Aci in Polifemo he has recently brought the Theater an der Wien down. I'll never forget the way he sang "Alto Giove". His messa di voce is just unique. He can jump 12 tones with no register break!
Fagioli is often compared with Farinelli, because of his wide vocal range of 3 octaves, from alto to soprano, extreme breath-holding, rapid coloratura and vocal elegance. He's also an master of improvisation. He has a wide fan base in Germany, Austria, France and of course in Italy.
Here is the details of his Porto concert for your readers.
