Depois de ter assistido a uma récita esta temporada (descrita aqui), foi mais uma grande noite! Lugar excelente hoje. Se eu pudesse viver dentro de uma ópera escolhia os Mestres Cantores de Nuremberga :).

O Kranzle já tinha sido substituído no dia 24 e hoje manteve-se a substituição. O Martin Gantner é um dos velhos conhecidos, experiente no papel, e para substituição em cima da hora (relativa) fez um trabalho excelente, quer vocal quer cenicamente falando. Dado que os meus últimos 4 Mestres foram com o Kranzle como Beckmesser (ROH, Bayreuth 2018 e 2019 e Wiesbaden), o Gantner foi uma boa variação.

Volle parecia que ia quebrar no final dos dois últimos monólogos mas aguentou-se. Restantes cantores ao nível do que tem sido esta aventura dos Mestres. Já lá vão 12 récitas em Bayreuth em 3 anos, pelo que não me posso queixar, mas anseio vivamente conseguir voltar para o ano.

Having attended previously a performance this season (described here), this was another great night! Great seat today. If I could live inside an opera I would choose the Nuremberg Masters Singers :).

Kranzle had already been replaced on the 24th and today the replacement has remained. Martin Gantner is one of the old acquaintances, experienced in the role, and for a replacement (relative) on time he did an excellent job, both vocal and scenically speaking. Given that my last 4 Masters have been with Kranzle as Beckmesser (ROH, Bayreuth 2018 and 2019 and Wiesbaden), Gantner was a good alternative.

Volle looked like he was going to break at the end of the last two monologues but he held on. The remaining singers at the level of what has been this adventure of Die Meistersinger. I attended already 12 performances in Bayreuth in 3 years, so I can't complain, but I look forward to getting back next year.
