A imagem controversa e
No 3º
A voz é agradável. O timbre é bonito.
Cenicamente esteve bem, sobretudo no final.

himself and the complex and tense relationship with Gala dominate the opera.
The staging

no quality at first, but getting better while the opera progresses.. In the 3rd
act, there is an interesting metaphorical circus and late in the 4th act, the
death of Dali is the high moment of the performance (scenic and musically).
The music by Benguerel did not excite me. I confess that I am not a lover of this century’s music.

Dali was
interpreted by catalan baritone Joan Martín-Royo.
He had an good vocal performance. The voice was pleasant. The timbre was nice. Artistically
he was ok, especially at the end.
Marisa Martins, Argentine mezzo, was a dull Gala, with a voice that was easily submerged by the orchestra.
Catalan tenor Antoni Comas was an uninteresting Paul Eluard / Superstar, without any relevant characteristic of his voice. Artistically he was ok.

For me, an operatic curiosity to see just once in a lifetime.
