Mais um "Gigante" que anula toda a temporada! / Another "Giant" that cancels the whole season!

 

NY Philharmonic Concert – Fevereiro / February 2020

Estando em Nova Iorque por outro motivo, não deixei escapar a oportunidade de ver e ouvir um concerto na New York Philharmonic.

 

Sob a direcção do maestro titular Jaap van Zweden ouvimos três obras:

 

1- Concerto em Ré maior para violino e orquestra Op. 77 de Brahms. Um dos meus favoritos. Ouvi mas uma vez a grande violinista Janine Jansen que tocou um Stradivarius 1707 “Rivaz – Baron Gutmann” emprestado pela Dextra Musica.

 

Foi uma interpretação fabulosa, infelizmente interrompida entre os andamentos por aplausos, mas no final a explosão do público foi enorme e merecida.

 

2- Stride (em estreia mundial) de Tania León (compositora de origem cubana residente em Nova Iorque).

 

3- A terminar a suite do Cavaleiro da Rosa de R. Strauss, também tocada ao mais alto nível.

 

E um interessante apelo para quem tosse!

 

 

 

NY Philharmonic Concert - February 2020

 

Being in New York for another reason, I did not miss the opportunity to see and hear a concert at the New York Philharmonic.

Under the direction of the principal conductor Jaap van Zweden we heard three works:

 

1- Concert in D major for violin and orchestra Op. 77 by Brahms. One of my favorites. I once heard the great violinist Janine Jansen who played a Stradivarius 1707 “Rivaz - Baron Gutmann” on loan from Dextra Musica.

It was a fabulous interpretation, unfortunately interrupted between the parts by applause, but in the end the public explosion was huge and well deserved.

 

2- Stride (in world premiere) by Tania León (composer of Cuban origin residing in New York).

 

3- Der Rosenkavalier Suite by R. Strauss, also played at the highest level.

 

And an interesting appeal for those who cough!
