A Ópera de Zurique transmitiu em directo a estreia da opera Os Contos de Hoffmann de Offenbach no dia 11 de Abril. A gravação está disponível no site do teatro (https://www.opernhaus.ch/en/) até final do mês.
A encenação de Andreas Homoki foi muito agradável e eficaz. Teve poucos adereços visuais. Ao longo de toda a ópera manteve-se um pavimento de quadrados de bom efeito, uma pipa de vinho e, em cada acto, um adereço dominante como um sofá ou um piano.
A Orquestra e o Coro, dirigidos pelo maestro Antonino Fogliani estiveram noutra sala, longe do teatro e foi interessante ver a explicação de como tudo funcionou.
Foi um espectáculo muito agradável, com os cantores solistas em grande forma.
Saimir Pirgu foi o Hoffmann e esteve ao mais alto nível. Gosto muito deste tenor, nunca me desiludiu e, mais uma vez, foi óptimo.
Alexandra Kadurina, que não conhecia, foi uma Musa / Nicklausse excelente, tanto na interpretação cénica como vocal.
A Olympia foi interpretada por Katrina Galka. Vocalmente esteve sempre afinada, foi poderosa (apesar de sabermos que, nas gravações, tudo soa sempre bem) mas exagerou na coloratura. Não gostei da interpretação cénica, era claramente um boneco mas, em grande parte da actuação, não se comportou como tal.
Ekaterina Bakanova foi uma Antonia fantástica na sensível interpretação cénica e vocal. A cantora tem um timbre muito bonito e este registo dramático adapta-se muito bem ao seu soprano.
A Guilietta foi interpretada correctamente por Lauren Fagan.
O vilão Lindorf / Coppélius / Miracle / Dapertutto foi um excelente Andrew Foster-Williams que associou uma interpretação vocal convincente a um bom desempenho cénico, muito ajudado pelo guarda-roupa.

LES CONTES D’HOFFMANN, Zürich Opernhaus
Zurich Opera live broadcasted the premiere of Offenbach's The Tales of Hoffmann on 11 April. The recording is available on the theater website (https://www.opernhaus.ch/en/) until the end of April.
Andreas Homoki's staging was very pleasant and effective. There were few visual props. Throughout the opera, a square pavement with good effect was maintained, a kite of wine and, in each act, a dominant adornment such as a sofa or a piano.
The Orchestra and the Choir were in another room, far from the theater and it was interesting to see the explanation of how everything worked.
It was a very pleasant performance, with the soloist singers with great performances.
Saimir Pirgu was Hoffmann and was at the highest level. I like this tenor very much, he never disappointed me and, once again, he was great.
Alexandra Kadurina, who I did not know, was an excellent Muse / Nicklausse, both in scenic and vocal interpretation.
Olympia was interpreted by Katrina Galka. Vocally, she was always in tune, she was powerful (although we know that, in the recordings, everything always sounds good) but she exaggerated in the coloratura. I didn't like the scenic performance, she was clearly a puppet but, for the most part of the performance, she didn't behave as such.
Ekaterina Bakanova was a fantastic Antonia in sensitive stage and vocal interpretation. The singer has a very beautiful timbre and this dramatic register adapts very well to her soprano.
Guilietta was interpreted correctly by Lauren Fagan.
The villain Lindorf / Coppélius / Miracle / Dapertutto was an excellent Andrew Foster-Williams who combined a convincing vocal interpretation with a good scenic performance, greatly aided by the dresses.
