A Royal Opera House colocou novamente em
cena a sua magnífica produção do bailado O
Lago dos Cisnes com música de P I
Tchaikovsky e coreografia de Marius
Petipa e Lev Ivanov (com
intervenções adicionais de Liam Scarlett
e Frederick Ashton).
É um bailado clássico,
com coreografia e cenários fantásticos (foi a primeira vez que vi aplaudir os
cenários, no 3º acto, neste teatro) e nada chega a uma boa produção clássica
para nos impressionar muito positivamente.
Não sou nada
entendido em ballet, por isso apenas deixo um breve comentário de leigo. A
música é belíssima e foi tocada pela Orquestra
da Royal Opera sob a direcção de Valery
Ovsyanikov. A estética da coreografia é impressionante e de uma beleza
invulgar. E a história é perfeitamente compreensível, nem é preciso ler
previamente o programa.
Os bailarinos
foram todos óptimos e os dois solistas, Akane
Takada como Odete / Odilde e William
Bracewell como Príncipe Siegfried foram fabulosos. O vilão Von Rothbart,
interpretado por Thomas Whitehead
também teve uma interpretação exuberante, embora não dance muito.
Um espectáculo de
uma beleza superior que merece ser visto e revisto.

The Royal Opera House
once again put on stage its magnificent production of Swan Lake with music by P I
Tchaikovsky and choreography by Marius
Petipa and Lev Ivanov (with
additional interventions by Liam
Scarlett and Frederick Ashton).
It is a classic ballet with choreography and fantastic
scenery (it was the first time I saw applauding the scenery, in the 3rd act, in
this theater) and nothing reaches a good classical production to impress us
very positively.
I am not an expert in ballet, so I only leave a brief
commentary on my impression. The music is beautiful and was played by the Orchestra of the Royal Opera under the
direction of Valery Ovsyanikov. The
aesthetics of the choreography is impressive and of an unusual beauty. And the
story is perfectly understandable, we do not need to read the program
beforehand.
The dancers were all terrific and the two soloists, Akane Takada as Odete / Odilde and William Bracewell as Prince Siegfried
were fabulous. The villain Von Rothbart, played by Thomas Whitehead also had an exuberant interpretation, although he
does not dance much.
A performance of a superior beauty that deserves to be seen over
and over again.
