LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR, Liceu, Barcelona, Dezembro 2015 /December 2015

Assisti à opera Lucia di Lammermoor de G. Donizetti no Liceu de Barcelona. Aqui comentei a récita com o elenco principal. Deixo agora umas notas sobre a récita com o elenco alternativo (“secundário”).

Um apontamento relevante que não referi no texto anterior. Pela primeira vez, no Liceu, onde já assisti a vários espectáculos, o programa disponibilizado para todos é apenas em catalão. Possivelmente um reflexo da situação política local, mas não deixa de ser assinalável, sendo o castelhano a língua oficial de Espanha.

Recordo que achei a encenação do italiano Damiano Michieletto pobre e desinteressante. Há uma grande estrutura de metal e vidros, com 4 níveis, à esquerda do palco, que é usada pelos cantores que a sobem e descem várias vezes e cantam dos seus vários patamares, mas sem grande efeito. O resto do palco está quase sempre vazio.

A direcção musical foi de Marco Armiliato que cumpriu sem encantar.

A Lucia foi interpretada pelo soprano Maria José Moreno. A cantor tem uma boa figura, bem adaptada ao papel, que interpretou com grande qualidade. A voz é bonita, afinada e audível sempre sobre a orquestra. Cumpriu a cena da loucura com muita dignidade, mas foi inferior à interpretação vocal de Elena Mosuc que cantou no outro elenco.

Edgardo foi interpretado pelo tenor Ismael Jordi. Foi óptimo, o melhor da noite. A voz é bem audível, tem um timbre agradável e manteve a qualidade elevada ao longo de toda a récita. O cantor tem também uma boa figura, que dá credibilidade à personagem. A beleza de timbre não iguala a do Florez (do elenco alternativo) mas foi mais consistente na emissão ao longo de toda a récita.

O barítono italiano Giorgio Caudoro foi um Enrico fraco. A voz é excessivamente nasalada e foi pouco consistente ao longo da récita. Comparado com Marco Caria, do elenco alternative, foi muito inferior.

Também excelente foi o baixo croata Marko Mimica como Raimondo. Tem uma voz de grande beleza tímbrica, potente e sempre afinada. O cantor é jovem e teve uma presença cénica irrepreensível.

Os restantes cantores foram os mesmos do outro elenco e foram fracos. Albert Casals como Arturo, Sandra Ferrández como Alisa e Jorge Rodríguez-Norton como Normanno.

I saw the opera Lucia di Lammermoor by G. Donizetti at the Liceu in Barcelona. Here I commented the performance with the main cast. Now I leave some notes on the performance with the "secondary" cast.

An important note that I have not mentioned in the previous text. For the first time at the Liceu, where I attended several performances, the available program was only in Catalan. Possibly a reflection of the local political situation, but it is nonetheless remarkable, being the Spanish the official language of Spain.

As I mentioned before, I considered the staging by Damiano Michieletto poor and uninteresting. There is a large metal and glass structure with 4 levels, to the left of the stage, which is used by the singers that go up and down several times and sing on its various heights, but without much effect. The rest of the stage is almost always empty.

The musical direction was by Marco Armiliato.

Lucia was interpreted by soprano Maria José Moreno. The singer has a good figure, well suited to the role, played with great quality. The voice is beautiful, refined and always audible over the orchestra. She performed the scene of madness with great dignity, but was below the vocal interpretation of Elena Mosuc who sang on the other cast.

Edgardo was interpreted by tenor Ismael Jordi. He was great, the best singer of the night. The voice is well audible and has a pleasant tone and high quality maintained throughout the performance. The singer also has a good figure, which gives credibility to the character. The beauty of the tone does not equal Florez (alternative casting) but he was more consistent in the emission along the entire performance.

Italian baritone Giorgio Caudoro was a weak Enrico. The voice is too nasal and shows inconsistencies along the performance. Compared with Marco Caria (alternative cast) he was much inferior.

Also excellent was Croat bass Marko Mimica as Raimondo. He has a very beautiful timbre, the voice is powerful and always in tune. The singer is young and had an impeccable stage presence.

The remaining singers were the same of the other cast, and were weak. Albert Casals as Arturo, Sandra Ferrández as Alisa and Jorge Rodríguez-Norton as Normanno.
